2018 Syrah

92 points - John Szabo, MS - "Notably smoky off the top, this is savoury, dense and dark Syrah from the Similkameen, with licorice and dried violet character, scorched earth and burnt rubber, a real monolithic and intense expression. Tannins are abundant but ripe and slippery, while acids are firm and supportive. Length is excellent. I'd suggest cellaring this for another 2-4 years minimum for the raw energy to dissipate. There is a lot of wine in this bottle, coiled and ready to pounce. Tasted November 2020." 90 points- Michael Godel - "Part Upper Bench Keremeos estate and part Middle Bench fruit aged 16 months in 90 + 10, French and American oak. Quite decadent and meaty, new leather and rich with chocolate ganache. An interesting dichotomy because it’s so very Syrah and could really not be anything but, however the oak is strong, laid on thick and makes up much more than half of the expressiveness out of this wine. Frankly it’s a magnanimous mouthful of wine and structured to last. Drink 2022-2027. Tasted November 2020." -
