This fussy little varietal provides you with the most delicate of our red wines. Hailing from 100% estate grown, clone 115 and 777, this wine is introduced with a pretty and elegant nose. Classical earthy notes of saddle leather and dried mushrooms fill the glass. The palate is generous in black cherry and savoury red fruit. We pitchfork some whole clusters into the ferments which add spice and dusty-like tannins. The acidity wraps this all up in what can only be described as a warmth. The rachis stem tannin adds a silky structure while the whole berries undergo carbonic maceration - this enhances darker, juicier red fruit notes. The wine is youthful as we aim to extract the most from these delicate and timid skins.

Our Pinot is both for drinking in its youth or you can choose to rest it for 5 years. We personally choose to enjoy Pinot with lighter meal options - like pastas - while resting our other wines.

Tasting Notes
"The Corcelettes Pinot is a mix of clones 117 and 115, and given the heat that can build up in the Similkameen Valley most summers, it opens with some elegance on the nose. Dry black cherries and some youthful tannins mark the entry. The mid-palate is full flavoured and persistent, pitching warm, spicy, savoury red fruit before finishing with some dense but silky tannins. It is your choice to drink or hold. For now, it can take on some more decadent dishes like duck, barbecue pork ribs, mushroom anything, or salty cheeses." -Anthony Gismondi, Gismondi On Wine

Vineyard Notes
Corcelettes Estate Vineyard, Upper Bench, Keremeos- “Stemwinder”- alluvial deposit & “Similkameen” gravelly sandy loam. Gnarly and extremely coarse soils eroded from steep mountain walls. Situated on the higher, south facing regions of the valley providing an extended growing season. Dry, windswept and extreme daytime heats. Exposed rock faces ‘sink’ and radiate heat well into the night. Vineyard rows are North/South orientation, VSP trellis system. Second Chance Vineyard, Cawston - Nisconlith sandy/silty loam. Fluvial deposits. Ranging from very fine to coarse, in veins. Think abandoned riverbeds or oxbows. Site benefiting from morning dews and reduced overall heat, with extreme high-lows which preserve acidity and aromatics. Vineyard rows are East/West orientation, VSP trellis system.
